It is a special product for car windows. It creates a thin layer, which forms small droplets that easily slides off the glass, especially at higher speed. This “goose” effect is often called “invisible wipers” as water clears from the windshield much faster and improves better visibility.
These coatings effectively performs:
- repels water;
- reduces dirt adhesion to the glass;
- improves visibility during rain;
- makes bug residue easier to remove;
- in winter, ice adheres less strongly
It is formulated to bond with glass and ensure a strong hydrophobic effect.
How to Prepare the Glass Before Application?
Usually, it is enough to use:
- a glass cleaner;
- a clean microfiber cloth
The most important thing is that the glass is completely clean and free of grease residues.
If you notice water spots, limescale, or other deposits, it is recommended to:
- polish the glass (manually or by machine, using a polish intended for glass or paintwork);
- after polishing, degrease the surface with isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
Ceramic coating bonds properly with clean and degreased glass.
Is It Effective?
It is really effective if the product is high quality. Reduces the need to use the wipers frequently. The view through the window will not be distorted.
How Long Does It Last?
We have tested a lot of different coatings, but the one we liked the most is Glaco, made in Japan.
Side windows will last about 8-12 months.
Windshield will last 3-5 months, because of vipers use.
“Glaco” application is very easy because it’s ready to use. It has a big applicator on a bottle:
Press the Glaco bottle, pour product onto the window and spread evenly without missing any area;
Wait a few minutes to dry and then wipe off with a clean microfiber cloth;
Durability depends on:
- the quality of the chosen product;
- glass preparation;
- vipers usage intensity;
- the condition of the wiper blades.

Proper glass preparation before applying a coating is 70% of the final result.
